It is official, the Facebook Phone is here, sort of. The phone with Facebook Home will be available on April 12, 2013 for 100.00 on AT&T is the HTC First, 4.3 inch glass display, running Android Jellybean OS. It will come in 4 colors, red, black, white and light blue. This is not really a Facebook Phone, it is an app or series of apps that run on the Android Operating System running on a HTC phone. There are many boot screen replacements as they are called and this one takes advantage of the Facebook feeds and delivers messages, notifications and other feed items to the home screen on your smartphone.
Facebook Home will also be available on certain model smartphones out now and available in the near future. The link below will take you to the Facebook Home page for more details.
They announced that you will be able to test drive it before you fully install it on your phone. This is nice, if it is not for you it will be easy to go back to your normal device set up.
Big Huge Note Here. While there are no ads on the home screen now, it is Facebook. There will be ads soon, they have to pay for the bandwidth somehow.
